This always perplexes me.
… I haven’t met too many liberals that hate Jews.
Most of the hate I get for my ancestry is from right-wingers.
I’ve had the unfortunate experience of getting a lot of anti-semitic hate from liberals. (Conservatives, too, though their hatred is different). Liberals will often tell me “Jewish means ZIONIST means you are the Israeli government and are directly responsible for the oppression of Palestinians I don’t care that you say you don’t support the Israeli government you said you’re JEWISH!”
Because apparently the world Jewish population is a monolithic puppet of the Israeli government, and my lack of support for the Israeli government makes me either a liar or a unicorn.
Yeah, but I again usually just get that from people that idenditfy with some form or the right. Most of the anti-zionist leftists that I’ve gotten to know know the difference between a Zionist and a Jewish person. I say most, because Tumblr, especially leftist Tumblr, has let me down a lot.
Being both a liberal AND a Jew (culturally), this picture just confuses me. On top of that, most Jews tend to be liberal.
